EYELASHES

Am I a good candidate for eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are a great benefit in many clients' beauty regimen, however, it isn't for everyone. Clients with the following conditions are not good candidates. 1. Those who don’t have natural eyelashes – an eyelash extension is placed on a natural lash; therefore the natural lash has to be healthy and strong enough to support an extension. Unlike using other lash processes such as a strip or flares, eyelash extensions can't be appled where there aren’t natural lashes. 2. Those who rub their eyes frequently –whether from allergies or out of habit, rubbing the eyes frequently can cause damage to your natural lashes from the pressure put on the extensions. 3. If you are ill or currently have allergies – Illnesses and allergies can have an impact on eyelash extensions due to constant moisture, rubbing of the eyes or crusting of the eyes from illness. Some clients who get allergies at certain times of the year take a break from eyelash extensions called "lash-cations" in order to maintain their natural lashes health while dealing with allergies.

What kind of eyelash extensions do you use?

We use mink lashes from Star Lash Extensions, a popular brand among celebrities. As opposed to synthetic and silk, the benefits of mink lash extensions are that they are more feathery looking and lighter in general, so they put less pressure on your lashes.

How are eyelash extensions applied?

Eyelash extensions are applied one at a time using a specially formulated, semi-permanent glue that will not irritate the eye nor damage the natural lash.

How often do you need them filled?

Every 10-21 days.

What are the aftercare instructions for eyelash extensions?

Avoid water or moisture for 24 hours. Do not rub eyes or tug on the extensions. Do not use eyelash curlers with your extensions. Use oil-free makeup remover. If the eyelash extensions cross over or move out of place, gently brush them into place with an eyelash brush. Mascara is not recommended for use over eyelash extensions. However, if you would like to use mascara, use eyelash extension mascara. After showering avoid rubbing lashes, it best to blot them with a towel and let them air dry. Use care when applying facial and eye creams to avoid the lash line as too many oil-based products can break down the adhesive. To maintain your lashes health, various kinds of lash kits are available for purchase at the salon.

What is a lift and tint?

A lift and tint is similar to a perm (but without chemicals like parabens or formaldehyde), for your natural eyelashes. It uplifts and curls them from the base of the lash, making them stand out and look longer. It's often paired with an eyelash tint, to enhance the defining effect.

MICROBLADING

What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure that applies micro strokes of pigment into the skin that appear as actual brow hairs. A fill is required 30 days after the procedure.

Am I a good candidate for microblading?

Unfortunately, pre-existing skin conditions and skin treatments can heavily compromise the effectiveness of microblading. Skin Complications - If you have skin which is prone to complications with eczema, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris and dermatitis (i.e., your skin is constantly flaking, itching, or aggravated), chances are your skin is in a is in a constant state of unrest and shedding and is not suitable for tattooing and therefore won’t hold the pigment well. Chronic Conditions - The same goes for conditions like chronic acne and rosacea. The inherent nature of this type of skin causes easy bleeding, which once again means your skin will not retain the color very well and intended effect of microblading. Additionally, excessively oily skin can cause those tattooed hair strokes to blur together and give off an unwanted solid effect instead of a naturally feathered look.

How long do the results last?

After a 30 day fill, results can last up to 1-3 years.

What are the aftercare instructions for microblading?

Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 7 days.
Increased sweating, practicing sports, swimming, hot sauna, hot bath, or jacuzzi, sun tanning or salon tanning, UV/UVA Rays must be avoided for 14 days.
Apply aftercare cream 3 times a day for the first 14 days
Do not pick, peel, scratch, or touch the micro pigmented area.
Wash face carefully around the eyebrow without getting water on the treated area.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that helps minimize the signs of aging, improve the appearance of acne scars and rejuvenate aging skin.

The primary appeal of microneedling is its ability to stimulate growth of collagen and elastin, which is the key to new, youthful-looking skin.

This safe treatment isn’t just for the face. It can also be used on many areas of the body, including the arms, neck, legs, abdomen, back and hands.

The treatment reduces wrinkles, fine lines, stretch marks, cellulite, premature skin aging, scars, acne, acne scars, hyper-pigmentation, age spots, rosacea and more!

Am I a good candidate for Microneedling?

It is safe for most people, but if you have an infection or history of abnormal healing, we may need to adapt your treatment plan.

What is the process for Microneedling?

First, an anesthetic cream is applied to the skin and the esthetician then rolls the microneedling device over the area, creating tiny holes in the surface.

The process typically takes 30-45 minutes, and afterward, your skin can be somewhat red, similar to a sunburn.

It takes only a couple of days for skin to look fairly normal, but results gradually become apparent. Natural collagen growth happens over a 4-6 week period.

You’ll need more than one treatment. Depending on the skin areas treated and what you’re trying to achieve, 4 microneedling treatments are typically required for optimal results.

To ensure the safety of your skin, treatments are usually spaced out a month apart.

What is the aftercare for Microneedling?

DO NOT EXPOSE YOURSELF TO THE SUN
Stay out of the sun and do not apply any sunscreen due to the toxins that may be contained in the lotion. Post procedure, the skin channels are completely open, and any toxins contained in topical applicants may be harmful to you.

DO NOT USE ANY “ACTIVE INGREDIENT” SKIN PRODUCTS
Avoid any skin care product that has active ingredients. These commonly include things like Alpha Hydroxyl Acids, Retinol and other similar agents. The skin will be highly sensitive and these products will only irritate the it further.

AVOID THE USE OF MAKEUP AFTER TREATMENT
It is imperative that you let your skin “breathe” and recover for 24 hours after the procedure. Using a makeup brush can penetrate the pores, especially if they are very thin, causing further irritation. Using a makeup brush that has been used before can contaminate the skin and, consequently, lead to infections. Wait 24 to 48 hours before you apply face makeup to give your skin the necessary recovery time.

AVOID SWEATING
As you sweat the pores of your skin will reopen, and the bacteria on your skin may enter the skin punctures. This can lead to a either a reaction or infection.

DRINK WATER
It is important to stay hydrated before and after your procedure to help your skin heal and rejuvenate faster.
